When drag racing veteran Buddy Martin opened the doors of E-Z Auto in 1992, he had one goal in mind...to offer the good people of Eastern North Carolina with bad credit an automobile dealership experience second to none! So with the help of his son Chris they set out to specialize in helping good hard working people with bad credit get financing for Quality Assured vehicles.
Buddy was determined to find a way to finance Quality Assured vehicles for people that: have filed bankruptcy; had charge-offs; had unpaid medical bills; have no credit; had gone through divorce; had repossessions; have essentially any imaginable negative credit issue possible. He knew there were a huge number of folks that had experienced some sort of hurdle in life and he wanted to do his best to smooth the road for them to get Quality Assured transportation. Today, the customers that come through the doors of E-Z Auto are good folks that have just gone through bad situations. The vision and mission has not changed throughout the years, E-Z Auto is still in the business of financing Quality Assured vehicles for people who have good credit, bad credit and even no credit. Whether they have filed bankruptcy or are in the middle of a divorce, the in-house finance department at Team E-Z Auto can help.
Early on, when Chris Martin joined his father Buddy the two of them worked to refine Buddy's original vision (to provide Quality Assured vehicles to good people with bad credit). Chris is now the President of E-Z Auto and is working harder than ever to improve the experience of every customer that wants a Quality Assured vehicle and world class service! Chris was the first Certified Master Dealer in North and South Carolina. In fact, there are just over 100 Certified Master Dealers in the entire United States. The distinction is given by the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) to dealers who are able to complete an intense four days of course work and testing and are "committed to our industry, support ethical business standards and are leaders in their communities."
Chris is also a recipient of the Carolinas Quality Dealer of the Year award given by the Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association (CIADA). He is the current Senior Vice President of the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA), and a past President of the CIADA. Not bad, for a guy who started his career working at a major financial institution. If you ask him, he will tell you that he would not have left the bank if it weren't for the opportunity to work with his father and help to realize his vision.
Over the years, Buddy has certainly had plenty of proud moments - like in 1994, when he was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame, or in 2007, when he was inducted into the Motor Sports Hall of Fame of America with such legends as Henry Ford, Richard Petty, Mario Andretti and Dale Earnhardt to name a few.
Today, both men have a lot to be proud of…perhaps their best moments though are when they reflect on how they have helped thousands of area families in their time of financial trouble to get into Quality Assured cars and trucks. Their formula for success is simple: Treat people the way that you would want to be treated, and don't sell or lease anyone a vehicle that you wouldn't let your own mother, wife or daughter drive!
